Hotfolders FTP Configurations

An Inforouter account is currently configured to transfer documents via the ftp service in HotFolders to one ftp address. We now need to transfer files to a second ftp address. Does Hotfolders support a means to setup 2 ftp client addresses? If it does, how?

Hello,

The FTP feature was added after the fact to support a specific purpose that was not really related to infoRouter.
The way this feature was designed, it only allows a single FTP account to be used.

Is the Hotfolders FTP interface considered a server or client? According to https://www.inforouter.com/document-scanning “infoRouter Hot Folders is a server side tool ...".

Does Hotfolders interpret an ftp address written as ftp1.mycompany.com/in/ differently than one written as ftp://ftp1.mycompany.com/in/ ? What is the correct ftp address configuration?

Thanks for your help.

Our Hotfolders FTP interface is returning “An error occurred: The remote server returned an error: (500) Syntax error, command unrecognized.”. In this case, Hotfolders ftp is consider a client and the remote system is the server. This issue occurs intermittently, but has a hugh impact when the remote system does not receive all documents that were expected. Can you explain the details of this problem and can you suggest corrective action that we may pursue to fix this problem?

The FTP service inside Hotfolders is a client. It will upload to any FTP Server.
Some FTP Servers however will behave differently on certain ports.
We are confident that the FTP feature works as designed and that the cases where FTP fails, our investigation always points to a non-standard or sub-standard FTP Server.
