Email Scanner - Upload Just the Attachment

We have a supplier that would like to email an updated pricelist (as Excel attachment) everyday that we would like to automatically capture and save as a new version (of the same document) each time.

Is there a way for the Email Scanner module (similar to Hot Folders) to just upload the attachment and not the entire email message?
If so - if the document already exists will it create it as a new version?

The functionality does not exist.
As usual, we will post the idea on our list of things to do and see if it gains any priority.
I personally like the idea!
