Is it possible to upgrade to Version 8 directly from 7.2.226?
It would be a bitch to have to upgrade to 7.5 then to 8.0.

Yes. The new setup and upgrade program is capable of upgrading both 7.2.226 and 7.5 versions to version 8.0.
Go ahead and upgrade soon. very exciting stuff.
