Custom Properites And Document Types

We recently received a request from our IP Integrity services group that they would like to explore the use of custom properties and Document types as a means to prepare better searchable Network documentation and standards. We would like to apply these options in their Portal and Library.

However the option to allow Library managers to do this is restricted and even though the system administrator can do this, we having a hard time trying to apply this. The instructions on how to do so seem rather vague and the training video that you have posted on your website is un-viewable due to the fact it plays in an extremely small video. And there are no instructions on how to add additional document types to a search. Right now, the only option we have for Document type is “Generic Type”, which makes it hard to enforce the Publishing requirements from a library policy view when we only have one document type.

Also, is it possible to have the option to assign one or more custom properties set to a document type?

If we could get an updated video demo, a scheduled live demo and updated documented instructions on how to apply the above, that would be great.

Thanks.
