Conversion from mySQL demo version to MS SQL Server

We currently have the demo version installed on the server we want to install the full version of InfoRouter with MySQL.
Our plans are to install the full version of InfoRouter now on Microsoft Server 2008 R2 Standard Edition with SP1.
In approximately a month and a half or so, we are going to move this over to Microsoft Server 2008 Enterprise edition with Microsoft SQL Server Standard Edition so we can create a SQL cluster.
My question is can we go ahead and use MySQL for now and convert over to MS SQL Server Standard edition or can/should we use Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express and upgrade to SQL Server Standard edition?
