I am a member of multiple user groups. Sometimes two or more of the groups I belong to have been given rights in a folder. Which user group permissions are in effect?

If an individual is in more than one group and both groups have been given rights for a document or folder, the higher of the two (or more) rights are assumed.

Example:

Joe is a member of two User Groups (User Group A and User Group B)

The document called "SecretDocument.doc" has been assigned the following permissions.

User Group A Read
User Group B Change

Joe will have the higher of the two rights (Change).

When one of the user groups have been assigned "No Access" an exception is made.
The "No Access" permissions will be in effect because it is assumed that this is intentional and it will be honored.
