Portals and Libraries

How many portals can a library have? Just one?
I would like to have multiple portals for different user groups in a Library. Is this possible? If so, how do I do it?

Dear Ms. Logan,

Portals are not tied to or related to document libraries. They are entirely independant of document libraries.
You can create as many portals as you like. Unfortunately you cannot assign user groups to a portal. Users can be assigned a default portal but not groups.

How does Portal really work. I tried some stuff but still unable to understand. What is the relationship between Portal and Libraries with respect to Users?

What exactly (in detail) is the relationship between Portal and Libraries? Creating a portal is just simple and easy, it appears like it just *only* create another interface to the libraries.

Hello,

Document libraries are independent from portals.
Portals are mainly web pages to greet people and provide quick access to certain documents and folders.
Portals can be configured to allow/disallow access to the document library.

Each user gets greeted with the default portal but as soon as he/she logs in, they may [optional] be routed to another portal.

You can find more details about portals here:
